Abolish Obamacare Fines NOW and Refund Unfair Penalties!
President Donald J. Trump and members of congress we the majority of the American people, are grateful you are abolishing Obamacare. You are right, it is a disaster for most. But, what is not being mentioned is something that we, the people who live paycheck to paycheck and just could not afford coverage, were forced to do BECAUSE we couldn' t afford it. A FINE! Last year millions of people had to pay extremely high fines because we just could not afford any coverage. AGAIN! We paid smaller fines in 2014 and it grows every year! The one time of year many of us look forward to, tax return season, the one time we get a big boost in money to catch up on bills, pay a late mortgage/rent, buy clothing and/or household needs,etc... we just could not afford any other time of the year, we were hit with INCREDIBLY high fines. These fines were taken straight out of our tax returns and some had to pay even more than what they would have received. We worked very hard for the taxes we paid in through the year, just to have Obama find an excuse to take it from us! It is unfair that we get penalized for something we just could not afford. Some of us literally would have to pay the health insurance forced on us instead of buying food, paying bills and buying our childrens clothing and others needs for our families! Last year I paid a huge fine for myself AND my child. Some unlucky people had to pay fines for each member of their large family, some 4-8 people! At $325 each! This year the fine is DOUBLED for EACH member of the family! Instead of $325 each(or more) it is doubled to $695 EACH! How this passed in Congress is incredibly disconcerting. Did no one, while going over this before approval, not think of the working class people and how it would hurt us?! Why did no one care to stand up for us?! And even though you plan to repeal Obamacare, we are being told since it was in effect through 2016 so we would still have to pay the fine.
Mr. President, we voters who voted for you, did so because of your promises to us middle to low income families, that you will make America great again for us. This petition is to ask, or BEG, that you will stop the government from penalizing us all for something we just could not afford. If we could afford it, we would have already had it before it was forced on us. We can understand the laws for insurance on our vehicles because if we were in an accident we need to have it in place to reimburse the other driver or property owner for our mistake. Health Insurance for ourselves benefits no one but ourselves. A lot of us are old school and believe if they get sick, a doctor visit isn't necessary because we can take care or ourselves. If, God forbid, we are seriously injured we can pay off our medical bills over time.
Health insurance is wonderful to have and it's great if the government wants to help with a subsidy, but to make us pay outrageous fines is so wrong and reeks of mafia style strong arming! Please, Mr. President, do whatever you can to stop the fines from occuring again this tax season! And it would be wonderful if you and all the Republicans we elected to help run this country, would make it possible to refund the outrageous fines Obama made us pay last tax season. We would be forever grateful! The refunds would be a wonderful stimulus to put that money back into our economy!
