Protect our 2nd Amendment Rights Without Restriction

We must defend our 2nd Amendment Rights, or they will soon all be gone.

With the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy in Newton, Connecticut, the gun ban debate has begun again and is reaching a fevered pitch. Senator Feinstein's proposed legislation bans 100 new guns, including simple handguns carried by millions of Americans. The Columbine Tragedy occurred during a ban on assault rifles, and the bombing in Oklahoma didn't involve a gun at all, but a bomb. In China, a man killed dozens of school children with a knife. Banning guns will not stop the violence, the answer to that does not lie in the 2nd Amendment, but in the moral fiber of American society.

We ask that each of you recognize the 2nd Amendment as part of the Bill of Rights which is to be held inviolate. In other words, these rights cannot be stripped from the American people, and the right to keep and bear arms is one of those rights. The Founding Fathers gave us that protection for a solid reason, and it should never be tampered with by anyone, let alone those who are driven by greed, rage, or grief, let alone a misguided sense of social justice.

We call on you who have been elected to represent the people of the United States of America to stand strong against those who would try to rob us of our 2nd Amendment rights. The 2nd Amendment reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Short, sweet and to the point. Please honor it, stand for it, and fight for it.

Sincerely,
