As an I.T. worker, there is no shortage of Americans that can do these jobs. Stop insourcing and outsourcing American jobs.

H1B Visa worker numbers continue to increase as Citizen worker numbers are being reduced in my I.T. shop. The American worker is being cast a-side by corporate America.

If people want to come here and be Americans I welcome them with open arms. If they want to come here and be a (foreign nationality here) who happens to be in the US I don't want them here.

I have personally seen dozens of my coworkers lose their IT jobs to be replaced by these H1B employees because they are cheaper. The companies that hire these people are idiots. In order to save a buck they hire these people, but in the end the company loses. Every day I work with these H1B employees. The majority do almost no work. They come in late and leave early. While they are in the office they spend the majority of the day on the telephone speaking to relatives in India. One girl spends almost her entire day in the bathroom on the phone. They use these American companies like a vacation, its party time. They use company printers to print out books of personal information. They have zero loyalty to the company since they are only a temporary employee. They can't follow instructions. By the time you spell out every detail of what they need to do, it would be quicker to do it yourself. I have given them coding work for bug fixes, and given them instructions as detailed as giving the exact line of code to be changed and they still cannot do it. They take advantage of free training and classes from American companies and take that knowledge back to India. Americans are losing jobs and the few that are left to work with these H1B employees are forced to train them and are MISERABLE. The worst part about working with these temporary employees is how much they LIE. They lie about everything!! HOW ABOUT PUTTING AMERICANS FIRST??

I'm all for finding ways to keep STEM graduates from top US universities in the US, but the H-1B program is swamping the IT industry with low skill graduates from 3rd tier foreign universities while qualified US citizens with STEM degrees from decent 2nd tier US schools are shutout of the job market.

This is a way to control our unemployment numbers. We should train the people in the US for jobs before we extend a request to bring in foreign nationals. Thanks Venita Howell

This program is destroying jobs for Americans in the software engineering industry and is a way for companies to get cheap labor for 6 years in return for essentially buying a citizenship for a foreigner. If we don't allow sham marriages for citizenship, why do we allow this? Just because companies can increase their bottom line? There are plenty of qualified American software engineers here. Companies just find a way to let them go when they reach middle age and instead bring a kid in from China or India who wants a US citizenship.

H1B is preferable for corporate america as they can exploit H1B worker to work more and/or get less money. This can not happen with an american worker. They easily get away from doing wrong things as the H1B employee can not complain as that will lead to his sponsorship get cancelled. They exploit in each and every way. This complains dont get out at all as the final loss will be for the employee. I am a H1B employee, so sharing this as I found this is true.

You would be surprised, while SOME Individual H1-B's make a small fortune by snagging American Jobs, it is the primarily the Contractor Companies that TEACH them how to "Inflate" their resumes with non-existent "Super-Skills", it is the Contractor Companies, who Often reap 70% or more of the contractor's actual hourly rate................. Of course, the Ultimate Parasites who allow this are the American Corporations, who all to often get FLEECED by these Foreign Contractor Agencies and THEN pass the cost ONTO THE AMERICAN CONSUMER....

Any politician who wants more H1B visas (like Ted Cruz) is NOT a friend to American workers. Currently, we have approximately 93 million unemployed/underemployed Americans and yet we have companies who are replacing American workers with H1B workers and some of those employers are MAKING THOSE AMERICAN WORKERS TRAIN THEIR OWN REPLACEMENTS! This visa system (along with illegal immigration) is destroying us! End it now!

! Laws were created to discriminate against us for the last 25-30 years. American Tech workers are asking for the same protections given the blue collar H2 visas. Work visas like H1-b and L1 need to be revised/eliminated to allow Americans to COMPETE for these jobs. Currently NO AMERICAN TECH worker has to be considered for jobs that are handed out like candy to H1 visas. End the H1-B and other work visas like the L1 and H4.

I am indian and I have some observation "Senator i do not think that there is shortage of skills in tech as adequate background check of H1B guy's skills or qualification is not done before visa is issued. Please remember the people coming under pretext of skilled labour dont necessarily have or like the Job they gonna do here. There are compelled by their Indian hires to forcibly lie in their resume to get Jobs and them the profits. Americans simply dont play these cheap tricks and spoil their image in the company and hence they get laid-off due to deceit of H1B Guys. H1B visa issue for Indian IT companies should have cap so that American companies can get few to hire international talent in USA. H1B visa sponsoring company should make sure they are not replacing "good" skills one with cheap and less experienced H1B Guys. Its not that tough to do above . Green Card process does it at some degree.

I just got the note from the Sheriff today that they are coming to take my house. My last job I trained my replacement H1B before they let me go. Our largest Bank in Cleveland is all H1B programmers. They simply do not hire American programmers to save money.

My husband works in the IT industry. The H1B visa program has been abused. Cheap labor in the US and the quality of the Indian IT worker is subpar. Their degrees (bogus) and it's worse in India. We need more IT jobs and we need to bring back jobs from India. America has become a service based economy with no service based tier 1 jobs. The number one job in demand in America is now health care aids, burger flippers and retail workers. Uhm and why is the middle class disappearing and we have a huge wage gap between the wealthy and the rest. They are producing jobs with cheap labor and selling them at a premium in the US. Either our government is dumb, not in touch with reality (probably not) or they are being bought out (99% probability). We need a new party, we've been screwed by the Republicans and the Democratic party. We finally had to move out of our home state, California to Oklahoma because it was increasingly difficult to make a living. We sold our home to an Indian family. A lot of them started moving into our neighborhood and now we live here. We left family, friends our lives behind. It broke our hearts. Thank you America!!!!!
