This program is hurting America. I am the wife of a computer software engineer whose company lay off his fellow workers to hire H1Bs not because the Americas did not know how to do their job they had all been with the company for 10 years or more. They all keep up to the current technology. They were laid off because the H1Bs work for less money and less pay. My husband was keep so he could train the H1Bs because they are coming here with the knowledge of a high school senior. This caused a daily trauma so he had to get a new job he was lucky he found one but he had to take a pay cut (a big one). The people that were laid off back in 2012 still have not found jobs.

H-1B visas are hurting the American workers, The only one benefiting from H1B holders are the greedy corporation and the corrupted politicians that are lining their own pockets. It needs to stop now!

Why does one need to hire an H1B Visa Holder for an administrative assistant position?!?!? Corporations are abusing the system and it must be stopped now!

I have read hundreds of posts and testimonials and stories of IT workers losing their jobs due to H1-B influx and Off Shoring, it is heartbreaking considering the amount of intelligence and hard work it takes to achieve a high tech job, many professionals love tech, then they are pushed out the door and shoved to ground into economic ruin by the H!B influx and out sourcing. I have witnessed my friends losing their jobs and life of despair. A sad state of affairs that must be stopped. Perhaps hope springs eternal.

I have yet to run across a single example of an H1B visa holder hired to "fill a skills gap", due to the supposed shortage of adequately skilled US IT workers. Studies on IT wages support the theory that H1B visas are not needed to fill skills gaps, that instead they are being used to drive down wages in IT and STEM. I personally have seen several instances of mass IT layoffs in various companies. Much of the IT department is then outsourced to IBM or InfoSys or Cognizant or WiPro or ... Most of the outsourced IT staff exists in India with a supplement that are staffed locally via H1B visas. These are the *only* instances I have run across H1B visa holders.

Foreign Workers from FOREIGN Agencies charge American Companies RIDICULOUS amounts for sub-average H1-B workers, then when those same H1-Bs fulfill their obligations with their Foreign sponsors, they take Full-Time IT jobs with Benefits from American IT workers who need (and HAVE A RIGHT TO) these positions

An unsettlingly large percentage of IT workers working in the United States on H-1B visas are no stronger skilled than a Computer Science major graduating from a local community college. Last I checked, here in the United States we have: 1) Lots of community colleges 2) Relatively high "underemployment" rates (U-6), particularly in the 25-35 year old cohort It would seem to me that we have a natural alignment of available resources... yet we have to import foreigners? Lets help our own people for once.

HI-B visa is an exploitation of the system to destroy the middle class that is highly skilled tech workers. I advise all young students to avoid any tech career and go into anything else, there is no future as long as corporations can literally bring in slave labor from India and China to fill the mid-high tier Professional Tech positions. Both Democrats and Republicans are at complete fault. The true unemployment rates are in the mid 20's not the garbage numbers seen in the 'Pravda' like counts given for only people collecting unemployment.

I'm a chemical engineer and I can't make a decent salary in the USA because of H1B workers. There is a high demand for engineers but salaries are still low because of low-quality under-educated workers from Asia. I'm living in Dubai now, but it isn't home

H1B visas are in essence legal corruption, which must be stopped. It is logically implausible skills gap in Manhattan to be in such condition, that Indians now make up nearly 40% of commuters on the Northeast Corridor on the NJ Transit and PATH system during rush hours. Completely irrational and unacceptable.
