So talking the past year about energy bills, in the summer months while DST is going on people were complaining about their energy bills 100$ or over a month. Just this last month when DST is not in effect I hear someone only paid 60$ that month for electricity. So come on. DST waste electricity really here in Texas we DO not need it any more.

Please stop this and have us to NOT change our clocks every few months from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time. It is very confusing and very hard to do it, especially if you have several clocks or watches in the home to change, and to know which ones to NOT change, such as cell phones and cable TV boxes and computers, etc. Please let it stay standard time so that the confusion can stop. Thanks.

This is an antiquated system that is no longer necessary. Day light savings time is only good for being a pain in the butt. We really need to put a stop to this.

Please put it back to standard time and leave it there...daylight savings time is just a total annoyance and serves no purpose except for lawyers and doctors who want to play golf later. The arguments for it are ludicrous. Like the changing of the seasons, standard time should have been left alone...if other states can do it, New York and all states should do it.

Considering having to sleep and eat by a different time table and accustom your brain to a different time schedule DST is nothing but an unnecessary hassle for the average American. I know it's only an hours difference, but in our stress filled busy lives the aggravation is not needed. When DST was first enacted times were different. Now there is hardly a town or community that isn't connected to reliable electricity. Farmers have to get their tasks done to the same time table with or without daylight, and year round, so DST does not give them any advantage. Our children mostly get bussed to their schools and no longer have to walk where there are no street lights. The only people who are disadvantaged are working Americans. DST is something that has needed to be ended decades ago, for everyone's safety.

It is not needed anymore, and as people work longer days, commuting in the dark becomes more stressful and dangerous. Also changing for only 4 months is hard on children going to school. It does not make sense anymore to use daylight saving time.

Whichever time zone schedule is the SAFEST that helps avoid car accidents, work accidents, suicides, and headaches ... please adhere to the SAFEST time zone schedule and keep it the same all year round so that ACCIDENTS and SUICIDES can be avoided as well as catering to other SAFETY issues involving light of day and light of night. This petition is requested for every state within the USA, in regards to whichever time zone schedule is MOST BENFICIAL for each individual area of the country, whether it be STANDARD or DAYLIGHT time or whichever time is decided to be MOST BENEFICIAL to each individual area, considering ALL FACTORS involved ... as concerns BOTH MORNING and EVENING and all concerns associated with BOTH times of the DAY and NIGHT.

I personally prefer we keep daylight savings time as the standard time year round. I have legitimate reasons for it: -If we were to stay with the winter time, once early summer arrives, much say daylight is wasted in the wee hours of the morning and not as much of the evening daylight is available to take advantage of. -We are a nation of overweight and non-active persons [especially children]. With more daylight in the evening, there is an opportunity for physical outdoor activity [for kids to play outside] after coming home from school. -When we change to the standard winter time, teenagers will be driving home during twilight and even early darkness, which causes more auto accidents. Even possibly hitting those mentioned about that may be outside riding a bicycle or such. -Everyone turns on the lights in the morning to ready for the day whether it is daylight outside or not. Most only turn on the lights in the evening once it begins to get dark. -Yes, I have heard some are concerned about children waiting for the school bus in the dark in the morning. Schools set their own schedules and do not all start at the same time. Besides, if the child is young, the parent should be waiting at the bus stop with him/her. -Early darkness adds to advancing cabin fever and depression. More sunshine in the evening means less depression. Who really needs the sunshine and birds chirping at 4 am?

Because of this practice, I become depressed during the winter time. I do not work extra hours, go shopping, workout or do anything because I need to make it home before the sun goes down to walk my dogs and enjoy at least an hour of sunlight. . I will prefer to drive to work when is dark and enjoying my afternoon than waisting the sunlight while I am inside of a building for 8 hours.

There is no need for it. They say you save because people don't use as much power at night, but what about power consumption in the morning. Plus with all the energy-efficient light bulbs I think it would be a wash.

It doesn't make any sense to keep changing the clocks twice a year, just because "tradition" demands it. Some states have already scrapped this practice. We should all scrap it.
