Those of us with chronic pain are treated like junkies. Something needs to change to the way doctors are told to treat us. They are killing us slow & painfully & giving us reasons for suicide as the only hope for relief. After 6 1/2 yrs.of constant pain never once have I been told what's causing my back spasms. All they want you to do is their so called treatments that do nothing, cost a lot of money & now more than ever, they provide nothing to stop the pain. I now see all doctors & in particular pain management doctors as sadistic quacks that do not care that you have serve pain. They are slaves to the government not healers!

It's the DEA who causes this entire atrocity. And, in my humble opinion, it comes down to finance and how the DEA makes their income. It's my understanding that any drug seizures and or prosecution of a drug related case by the DEA results in a financial bonus by seizure of the person's assets and the DEA keeps this. If this is true the financial windfall of seizing and converting thousands of doctors assets is quite lucrative. I have chronic Intractable Pain and I can assure you that reducing my medication ruins quality of life, it does not prevent me from sudden and unexplainable death. The statistics surrounding the reduction of opiates and longterm survival of people with chronic pain is total BS. I will lose 20 years of life from lack of sleep, a reduced ability to fight disease, and a mental depression that is staggering because of the corruption surrounding this. I simply hope that those people who created this tragic practice get to suffer like the rest of us for a lifetime.

My husband has major depression and anxiety, also degenerative arthritis and degenerative bone disease in his spine and to top it off he has oesteoprosis T score -3 which means his bones are of an 80 year old, he is only 54. His Doctor informed us they are going opiod free, we have been to several different types of doctors but no one wants to do anything for his pain, including the endocrinolgist that gave him a shot for the oestoporsis which caused him more pain. Something needs to change, these people are suffering because of people and doctors that have abused it. I get so ****ed off dealing with these doctors, sometimes I want to put them in pain and tell them to sit and suffer with it.

Doctors go to school for a very long time, much longer than any government officials ever have. Doctors know more and should be allowed to treat chronic pain patients in the manner they see fit. I suffer daily and grow tired of hearing the government make threats to harm me and my doctor! We all need to do what we can to speak out against this atrocious crime the government is committing against us! Our government needs to spend their time and resources on seeking out actual drug crimes like selling and/or using: heroin, meth, and other illegal drugs!

This is totally ridiculous and I have used opioids for five years due to accidents throughout my entire life that included my neck, spine, and compound fracture just below my rotator cuff. I have never failed a random drug test. I have always taken my medication as directed, and had correct pill counts time after time. I cannot work in this kind of pain, without medication, and being 48 years old, I have no other way of life without being able to do my daily activities, such as raising my children, daily housework activities, and going to work. Just to durvive in this world. So if this were used against me, I can assure you that my quality of life would be nothing! Much less would I want someone caring for me like I am 95 years old already. Really need to condider the people who do the right thing because they don't have another choice, and yes, I've tried all alternative ways to treat my chronic pain with a very small effect, if not exacerbating the pain I'm already in. Get your crap together, because I have to every day, wether I feel like it or not!

When I began pain management way back in 1994 I was told by the medical professionals that these opioid drugs are safe to take. I suffered greatly from two failed neck surgeries, and left with bilateral radicular pain, headaches, and severe muscle spasms. I had a plethora of other modalities including high frequency ablasions, epidural steroid injections, portable TENS, PT and deep tissue massage, and trigger point injections to name a few. Eventually I agreed to go on the long term opioid therapy. I have now been on them since 1999! I relocated to eastern PA in July 2015. Since then I have not been able to find another pain management doctor willing to accept me as a patient. My inability to handle high doses of none steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs due to a hiatal hernia and acid reflux leaves me absolutely no options within a legal framework!. If these "pain management" doctors will no longer prescribe pain medications for very REAL and provable PAIN, are they now saying they erred by claiming these drugs were safe to use? Did they cause me serious harm by putting me on them for 18 years? Perhaps the only solution left is to find an attorney?

I find it VERY wrong, to point of life threatening as well as removing a quality of life one is used to. If a person has been treated for years w medications that worked for them, why, is the DEA hunting or hurting doctors like it's a witch hunt? There ARE many so many of us who DO NOT deserve this . We ask please do no harm,do not take what is our rights. I ask humbly- Regardless what happens w the drug addicts,IV users this does NOT relate to your average pain patient. If a person has a visible pain ,MRI- Bloodwork etc, they should be able to continue on w their care and follow the contract made between them and their doctor.

Hello my name is Jennifer an I live in ocean county. I have been dealing with pain for a long time now since 2005 when I had my first surgery on my back. The first surgery I had failed as I'm sure I'm not alone. In 2006 I had another back surger. I am now left with metal bars an screws Nwe've damage an two lastic docs. I have tried everything under the sun before turning to pain pills. Pain pills were my last resort. Finally I had found something that works. It doesn't take away all my pain but at least it lets me live life a little easier. Now with the new laws I'm being taken off my pain medication. It's like starting all over again. Not being able to live my life once again. It's terrible how the doctrs are being told not to help people in pain. If a person is on disability an has proff of there pain they should not be told by a pain doctor that I can't help u. It's not fair that people in pain have to suffer because of people that abuse there meds. When someone become addicted to alcohol they don't put a band on it an tell people we can no longer sell u alcohol.I grew up with two parents that drank just about everyday an believe me it can have an impact on your up bringing. I do understand the problem we have today with the pain medication. I had a sister who was on heroin an I know first had what can happen to a person. Unfortunately I couldn't help her an now she is no longer with me. So I do get it!!! I really do. But there needs to be a line drawn when it comes to people suffering with pain. The way the DEA is just takeing everyone off the pills that need then isn't right. Yes there are some people who don't need them an get them anyway. BT there are also people that need them to live. If someone has proof of there pain an has tried everything under the sun an the pills are the only thing that works they should not be told there is nothing we can do for u. U should not have to be a pin cushion with injections that work for a day or so an the rest of the month u are left suffering. I think there should be another solution for people like my self before the DEA just says oh well to bad u suffer!!! Keep suffering. There are days I don't want to live because the pain is so bad.an it scares me to know thatthe there is no longer any help for me an that I'm no longer gonna be able to live life.the DEA needs to realize that there are people out there that are considered disabled by the state an need there meds. I really hope that the DEA changes some if the rules to this pill problem we have. But makeing people suffer is not the way. The doctors need to know who they can help an who they can't. There should be a way that someone like myself should be allowed to sue who ever makes these rules. It's just not fair that people have to suffer for bad apples.

I'm a chronic pain for my back. I've had surgery, every procedure offered by my pain management doctor. I've done spinal cord stimulator trial and did have the permanent implanted. The only thing that has helped me is my pain medication. Now today at doctors office I've been told that the GOVERNMENT HAS TOLD MY DOCTOR WHAT HE CAN PRESCRIBE. I understand that there are addicted people and some who may sell pills. But this LAW IS HURTING THE HONEST PEOPLE!!! I'm drug tested and have never had any issues. I see regular doctor who also monitors my health. And I see physiatrist. And by taking medicine away from me will only put my life in jeopardy, but the life of my dependent minor. I'm so ANGRY about this because I fear that when enough medicine is taken away that I'll consider the streets or suicide. Government needs to let the doctors treat their patients and STOP HURTING THOSE IN NEED!!!!!!!!!

I've been dealing with chronic back and neck pain for 10 years. I've tried everything to ease the pain. I put my body through so many procedures, all for nothing. The only thing that works for me is opiate pain medication. It doesn't take all the pain away but it makes it bearable so I can have a productive life. Every month I pee in a cup like I'm a criminal. When the nurse asks what is my pain level on the meds, I say it's usually a 6, sometimes a 7. When they say without, I say 11. For real! Listen, I don't need a doctor (who doesn't understand what we go through) to tell me to stop taking pain meds and go do yoga. F*ckhead! I'm an entrepreneur and don't want to be laid up nothing all day. I want to work. And I do work. I've been going to a great doctor who listens and understands. But I'm hearing so many stories lately that you cannot trust your doctor, that the DEA is targeting them and getting them to turn on us. I'm terrified of this! I cannot imagine not having my pain meds available to me. I just want to lead a normal life. I didn't ask for this chronic pain! I'm only 51. It scares me that my condition gradually worsens over time. I'm not mentally addicted to pain meds. I could wean myself right off of them if I didn't suffer in pain. We keep hearing of suicides. I never in my life thought of that or was able to understand why or how someone could think that. Until I became a chronic pain sufferer. I get it. It's scary how many of us are out here with the same story. Dear DEA, Congress, Doctors and whoever else will listen: Do no harm, just help us. Please.

If YOU have not been in chronic 24/7 pain for at least 6 mos.- Then you have NO right to speak about what I need for pain! Physicians, FDA/DEA! If you have not walked an inch in my shoes- Shut Up-all you know are abusers!Surprise ! There are tons of patients, who don't and NEVER have abused their pain meds. "Do no harm," is not just medical terminology. These words are the sacred oath, said a loud, as a pledge, to always protect the lives of those the serve. One of the most precious gifts in life is living in good health. Providing this care is a high calling and it is reprehensible to know this care has been taken away by unqualified politicians and law enforcement officials. Not only have numerous individuals lost the right to live the best life possible, many have lost life itself. These consequences are numerous and unexceptable! None with the intent to provide the best care to patients. Rather they undermine, minimize, or even destroy the rights of the doctor patient relationship. Even, assuming the worst, a patient has an issue with substance abuse, the ability to find unjudgemental help has been eviscerated by the keepers of "the swamp." The damage encurred rests solely on the shoulders of government agencies. They are completely unqualified to make any medical decisions; doing so is a criminal act. It is my great hope, the new President of the U.S.A, will abolish the stupidity of the Obama rein and bring back common sense to health care. Or maybe the next time a politician or law enforcement agent needs medical care, "we the people" can have a trash collector give them the quality care they deserve.

I can not bare the pain any longer. You work all you life and this is what you get. I did not ask for this pain. I just want my life back. With pain meds I was able to accomplish something each day and continue to work. Now I am just going to apply for disability and let the government pay for it. They owe me for this.I hope the surgeries work for me but very skeptical. I only hope the people setting these rules someday are in the pain that we are all in and see how it feels.

The current DEA "slash and burn" policy against narcotic/opioid pain medication and the doctors who dare prescribe these medications is wrong on so many levels. How long must we, those of us who suffer from chronic, or for that matter, any pain, and seek help from trained professionals for help, only to be rebuffed and attacked, have to deal with this insult? We deserve to live our lives with a modicum of comfort, free as much as possible from the constant pain

My life has been a living hell since the new opiate regulations were put into play by the DEA. Suffering from a deteriorating left hip joint (bone on bone), facet joint disease at L3, and a right shoulder rotator cuff tear. Am scheduled for upcoming surgery on the last 2, but getting enough Norco to ease the debilitating, horrific pain in the mean time, has been a NIGHTMARE! No matter where I go trying to get pain meds I am treated like a drug addict. If I were an addict would I ever have agreed to the surgeries trying to get away from the horrible pain? Of course not! So why do I keep getting treated like a criminal??? I simply need enough medication to fend off the pain until the surgeries have been done and I have recuperated! I know the are countless folks who suffer far worse than I and this is why I am complaining. I really feel for them!!! Can't imagine what it would be like with no hope, no solution, except opiates. The damn doctors got me on opiates years ago and then when my pain greatly accelerates, the government tries to take it away. Go figure! Sometimes I feel our government just wants rid of it's older citizens. Their actions seem to indicate this to me. Cruelty beyond compare!

I have significant nerve pain from a failed surgery in 2010 that was done to prevent paralysis in my leg. I have been on opiates since 2010. I had an amazing doctor who really cared about me and my life. But he left the practice because of the recent crack down on doctors who prescribe medication. Eight months ago, it was okay to use pain medication for chronic pain therapy. Now it seems like pain patients are treated like criminals. Since losing my caring doctor, I am now with a doctor that treats me like a liar, strips me of my dignity, tells me my life and career and responsibilities to family and work are 'irrelevant' and the only concern he has is getting me off opiates. He does not acknowledge my conditions that cause chronic pain. I complied with being sent to a pain psychologist, who was counseling me to ‘be in control of my pain.’ I asked the new pain doctor if I could be involved in the decision process of opiate use reduction and was denied. In four months, he reduced me from 80mgs to 20mgs. I am at the point where my pain and DTs interfere with my ability to work. I use to work 50+ hours a week on 80mgs a day. I have lost almost a month of work in the last four months due to 'his plan' for my life and can barely work 6 hours a day now. I worked 20 years to be where I am at in my career and could lose it all in the next month. I can't take any more time off. I run a foundation and am the only employee. Without my time dedicated to this organization, if could fail too. How is that for being a productive citizen despite my chronic pain condition. How about that for jeopardizing an organization’s sustainability! Yes, Way to Go USA! I have a spinal cord stimulator that is failing, causing more pain. Something is out in the leads and the doctor I am seeing thinks it is 'all in my head'. I am a liar! With the opiate epidemic, I can't seem to get in to see a doctor that is verse with spinal cord stimulators. It just infuriates me that I am suddenly a criminal because I have been receiving opiate medication for my chronic condition. When is the CDC and feds going to wake up and realize that pain patients need to be treated with respect, treated with dignity and supported if forced to be taken off opiate medication. Who the hell thinks someone can get off the meds in four months when they have been on them for almost a decade, taking them as prescribed and functioning in society. Don't they know how the drug affects the brain? Isn't there any consideration for those pain patients who are FUNCTIONING and contributing to society and the economy? Should we just roll up in a ball and die!

What is happening now is absolutely criminal. Government and/or its agents should not be interfering with what is decided between a doctor and his or her patients. We are suffering out here to the point that there will be a cost to not only our economy, but also human costs that could result in a number of things from broken families to suicides. People who live with chronic pain should not be told by the DEA how to be treated. The government has no business threatening doctors license because they treat their chronic pain patients with pain medicine. I now must leave my doctor of 20 years and be shuffled off to a pain management doctor that know nothing of my daily stuggle with pain! Why not just stop making the medicine DEA? If it is so bad? I have never abused my medicine but I can live a pain free life with it. The DEA has just told the doctors what amount i should take si the government just had my dosage reduced by 1/4 because they know better than my doctor and i am stuggling with horrible pain trying to figure out just how to make all of this work! It is bad enough to live in pain but now i must jump through DEA hoops to try and persevere through this totally ridiculous path they have sat at their desks and decided. Well I see my state tax dollars are at the lies again!!!Calling a emergancy session on opiates when the reality and truth is,,,its NOT prescribed opiates that are killing ADULTS in Wisconsin!!!If u read/hear any propaganda in Wisconsin,IE,,NPR,ALL T.V. STATIONS about ,''our medicine,'' they ALWAYS REPEAT THE WORDS OPIATE/HEROIN TOGETHER ON EVERY T.V. STATION IN WISCONSIN,,,NEVER EVER ARE THOSE 2 WORDS SEPERATED...NOR ARE THEY SEPERATED AT THE CORONER OFFICE,WHEN SOMEINE DIES,,,THEY JUST RITE DOWN OPIATE O.D. SINCE HEROIN W/SHOW UP AS A MORPHINE BASE BECAUASE THEY COME FROM THE SAME PLANT MATERIAL!!!!THUS YOUR DATA ON OPIATE DEATH IS A LIE,,,,U SYSTEMATICALLY CENSORE ANYONE WHO TRY TO EXPOSE THE TRUTH'S,,THAT HEROIN IS THE ;EADING CAUSE,,,NOT OPIATES,,,,,SEEING AS THOUGH I HAVE SENT SCIENTIFIC INFO AGAIN AND AGAIN TO MY STATE REPRESENTATIVES SHOWING THERE NOT SEPARATING HEROIN FROM OUR MEDICINES!! AND THEIR NOT DOIING SOO ON PURPOSE,,WHICH IS WHY THEIR ,''RUSHING,'' THESE NEW RESTRICTION TO DENY US ACCESS TO OUR MEDICINES IN WISCONSIN,,,,BEFORE THE TRUTH IS EXPOSE,,,FOR THEY KNOW DAM WELL,,,,ONCE IT BECOMES LAW,,,ITS HARDER THEN CRAP TO REVERSE IT,,,,BUT GUESS WHAT LIERS ON MY DIME STATE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS,,,,THE ACLU IS WAITEN IN THE WINGS THIS TIME,,,ON MY DIME,,,SOO GO AHEAD,,,,KEEP LIEING,,,PASS MORE RESTRICTION ON MY MEDICINES,,,FOR THIS WILL BE THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMEL BACK,,,AND U WILL BE SUED FOR VIOLATION OF international LAW ON TORTURE AND GENOCIDE AND BASIC DISCRIMINATION TOWARDS THE MEDICALLY ILL,,,AND THE WILLFULL TORTURE AND GENOCIDE OF THE MEDICALLY ILL W/PAINFUL MEDICAL CONDITIONS,,MARYW
