Remove the "slave exception" in the 13th Amendment
I ask that you, the Congress of the United States of America, amend the exception in the 13th amendment that legalizes enslaving criminals. There should be no exception for slavery! Period! This petition is not about criminals but about the notion that anyone could be enslaved or known as slaves. This is wrong and must be removed!
The 13 amendment states: "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
