Appeal to the Senate that They Reject President Trumps Nomination of James Pruitt as the Head of the EPA

We the Undersigned are requesting the United Senators to reject President Trumps nomination of James Pruitt as the head of the EPA. We feel it is a direct conflict of interest to have a leader in the Oil and Gas industry as the head of an environmental organization meant to established to encourage meaningful and effective environmental legislation that uses all devices at their disposal to protect the nations precious environmental resources. It violates the system of check and balances, built into our system of government, for the specific purpose of encouraging meaningful dialogue and debate about issues of importance. There are many reasons we feel the nomination could threaten the function of the EPA.

1. Having vested interests representing leadership obviously leaves the doorway open to corrupt decision making. James Pruitt is a leader in a the Oil and Gas Industry that directly opposes the desired will of the people to halt hydrofracking, tar sands oil development, and unnecessary pipeline expansions due to destruction of pristine environmental gems. Such destruction includes water pollution of rivers lakes, parks, and farms and habitat destruction of native american peoples, Canadians, US citizens, buffalo, moose, bear, elk, cranes, fish and other signature species.

2. There is a viable solution to our global electricity needs. Energy can be supplied at $.068/kwh by harnessing the geothermal energy present at the ocean rift zones. This energy source would eliminate all other energy sources being considered due to it's extremely low cost of production and minimal impact on the environment. http://oceanbites.org/harnessing-geothermal-energy-from-the-seafloor-could-power-the-future/

We recognize that energy interests of the United States are matter of national security that deserve the utmost of consideration and care. Thus, in order to ameliorate any losses taken by North American petroleum investors, should production be halted, we are considering a plan that would tax cheap foreign oil consumption and give proceeds to the investors in order to bring investors to a break even point in their North American investments. Middle Eastern oil, in particular, is cheap, abundant and places little strain on the environment. https://knoema.com/vyronoe/cost-of-oil-production-by-country

We would like you to ensure that all of the above stated possibilities are fulfilled.
