Advertisment of Alcoholic Beverages

Helping our children have an addiction free future

For years everyone has stated the obvious dangers of smoking, President Obama states that they flavor tobacco to entice kids and has passed legislation to stop it. I am asking for help in passing legislation that will prevent Alcohol Manufactures from Advertising on TV, and in Magazines. Our children are surrounded by advertisements showing drinking of alcohol to be the cool thing (Captin Morgan) or sexy men and women floating through bars trying to catch that one drop of FLAVORED Alcohol. The Alcohol Manufactures are intentionally flavoring their product to hide the alcohol taste, and advertising in such a way to lure our youth into thinking that drinking alcohol is the cool thing to do. According to the CDC Number of alcohol-induced deaths, excluding accidents and homicides: 22,073

Number of alcoholic liver disease deaths: 13,050. Over 17,000 people are the victims of drunk drivers each year, and about every 30 minutes someone is killed by a drunk driver. This figure does not include cases of spousal abuse nor does it take into account the number of child abuse cases as a result of alcohol. We do not need to make alcohol so glamorous to our children. Tabacco has been pulled from TV as well as magazines for years, it makes sense to Pull advertisement of a substance that can affect our children in such a negative way. Take a Stand and Help me Help our Children have the chance for an addiction free future.
