I agree that the price increases are excessive. Supply and demand can only account for so much. The technology is not very complex, the materials are inexpensive, and the medication price is minuscule.

It is unconscionable for Congress to spend so much time on nonsensical partisan issues while pharmaceutical companies like Mylan are forcing people to choose the only thing standing between anaphylaxis and death or paying their bills. It is a travesty that consumers elsewhere in the world - including Canada - can purchase affordable medications, while Cingress and big Pharma are willing to literally watch Americans die so they can all get richer. I demand Congress force pharmaceutical companies like Mylan to stop profiteering off medications like EpiPens, and reduce the price to accurately reflect the cost of production.

As a Pediatrician I am extremely concerned about the rising costs of this essential medication and what it means to the safety of children with life-threatening allergies. The government should and must have a role in capping drug costs and protecting families from exorbitant drug costs that put their health and lives in jeopardy.

Two of my four children need to carry an epipen. i will be taking my other two children to the allergist soon and i suspect that another of my children will need one. The cost of these should not be as high as they are and it is illegal to have a monopoly.
