Allow More Syrian Refugees Into the US!

Messages Sent So Far
In 2014, a measly 249 Syrian refugees were resettled in the US. This in the middle of the largest humanitarian crisis in our lifetime with 8 million displaced Syrians. Syrians are risking their lives, and sometimes losing them as they die on capsized ships, or suffocate on trucks during dangerous treks to Europe. Several European countries have accepted Syrian refugees in the thousands. This petition is a show of support by Americans who deeply care about the fate of Syrian civilians forced to face death by either barrel bombs or drowning in the Mediterranean due to the world's callousness. It is a call for US lawmakers to raise the quota and ease the immigration of Syrian refugees who need a safe haven now!

Please let them in. I would host them, my family in California would host them.

Please let these people through. I will host them, my family will host them. Without a place to go, we are condemning the millions of displaced men, women and children to death. We must help them.

My father was a child refugee after WW2 and the civil war in Greece. Syrians are in a desperate situation and we cannot turn them away but need to welcome them. Imagine you are being bombed and then no one will help you? The nearby countries cannot shoulder any more of the burden and those of us with means need to help out. We can take over a million Syrian refugees and that would still be unnoticeable amidst our total population. Many in my community are ready to help however we can.

My father was a refugee from Germany during WWII. He is one of the 10% of Jewish children who survived the war. We must help the Syrians escape the unbelievable horror. Please don't let us become desensitized to their horror.
