Make Animal Welfare Education Mandatory in All Elementary Schools across America
To educate children not to be cruel or mistreat animals
Dear President Trump, Members of Congress, and the House of Representatives:
Children need to learn to love, show compassion and respect towards dogs and cats, and learn that abusing or being cruel to an animal is WRONG. Implementing animal welfare into the curriculum should be started as early as the second grade thru fourth grade, and be continued on up thru middle school. Our teachers are the most important role models for our children and can make a BIG difference in educating our children on the care and respect towards animals, also known as our family, and our best friends.
Mandatory federal legislation needs to be passed in ALL 50 states to initiate animal welfare into the school curriculum.
And sadly and unfortunately, some of these perpetrators of animal abuse are young teenagers.
It is well documented and studied that a child's attitude towards animals can predict future behavior. From published reports, in every school shooting in America, showed one warning sign indicating the young teenagers abused or killed animals before escalating their heinous behavior onto their fellow classmates!
By educating our young children very early thru education will help mold the ethics for a much more civilized society that values ALL living beings as an integral part of this planet and society as a whole. We need to empathize to children the role of animals within our lives and our responsibility to treat them with respect and compassion. Teaching children to extend kindness and respect towards animals makes them more civil, kind and respectful in their relations to each other, and will make them become more humane, law abiding citizens of society.
