Mandatory minimums are ridiculous. Bring back federal parole and give these people another chance.

The prison sentences for drug offenders are ridiculous! How can you call prisons Correctional Facilities when you are taking a person's entire life away from them. A person should not receive 10 years to life for selling drugs! Taking people away from their families for non-violent crimes is not correcting the situation, it's adding negativity to an already bad situation. Once a person is taken away from their family, the family is left to raise children by themselves, which causes a generational curse. Please start freeing husbands and fathers so that they can return to their homes and be an asset to society. We've got to start allowing people the chance to right their wrongs. If a person has the opportunity to apply for parole, you can then look at their progress and determine if the individual has proved worthy to re-enter population. Thank you for your time.

I love the comment made by Monica B. We truly need to deal with non violent crimes on the outside so fathers, husbands ,mothers and wives can raise there children and those that prove themselves unworthy of change that opportunity can be taken but at least it was given for the children's sake.
