There needs to be an animal abuser registry, so that no animals are sold to abusers and so the police can regularly check up on these people's homes.

Without strict laws and real consequences, those involved in dogfighting rings and animal abuse will continue to do harm . We must to stand up to perpetrator's of violence in ways that are most effective and creating stricter laws is an efficient means to do so.

Former serial killers and psychopaths will tell you they started on animals and worked their way up to human torture. Abusing/killing/ torturing animals is not only horrible and wrong but can lead to more serious crimes in the future. Also, as human beings we hold our selves to the highest standards. Allowing this abuse will make us no better than the trash we put away. Change animal laws, not only for our furry friends but for people as well. Prevent future crimes. Lock up the crazies.

Abusing or killing a domestic pet should result in trials and potential jail time.

Animal abuse is prevalent in the rural areas of Colorado. I see on a weekly basis, dogs that are left in all kinds of weather, no food and water. Some lack any human interaction, except to be abused and mistreated. Local police and city government are no help, because they do not care; out of sight out of mind.

Dogs chained 24 hours a day and that is the only life that they know. Some lack any human interaction, except to be abused and mistreated. I sent documents to our politicians in Colorado and only one responded, but no action taken at their level. We need your to take actionand help to get something done to establish a detailed guide for pet owners. I had submitted workable guidelines, but was ignored at city and federal level.

I sent documents to each of you; Senator Udall, Senator Bennet and Representative Tipton; only one of you responded, but no further action was taken at your level. Senator Gardner, you have been added to take part in this issue. We need you to be proactive in this matter and help to get something done to establish a detailed guide for pet owners. I had submitted workable guidelines, but was ignored at city and federal level.

Gandhi said it best "The greatness of a nation can judged by the way it treats its animals." As a nation, we are failing on every level. I am not sure if we are blind, deaf, dumb or all three.

Animal cruelty is so prevalent in our country and needs to be stopped. We NEED stricter laws for animal abuse and neglect. Stricter laws will benefit not just the animals, but women and children too. Abusers are always abusers. They are abusive to any powerless being.

Animals have feelings and emotions. Those who abuse animals would abuse human beings as well. Animals are helpless and depend on us for survival. Would you abuse a child? Abusing a helpless animal is the same thing and should have similar consequences.
